Hyderabad Traffic Pending Challans

Hyderabad, which have been evading the payment of the fine for violating traffic rules for several years, can no longer escape unpunished. Very soon, they are going to get notices asking the court to drop the criminal amount or face another prison. The city police have gathered data from up to 18 lakh traffic offenders who have been avoiding paying the penalty for a sum of Rs 65 million rupees. A police officer senior traffic department revealed that there was a vehicle roaming the city with no less than 650 pending challans him. "Even after repeated warnings, the car owner did not pay the fine for violations. For this type of vehicles that are planning to exploit them on the road and will be released only if the vehicle owner pays due," said the official. Notices were being issued to all vehicle owners to pay the debt as quickly, failing which the vehicle would be under attack, the official said.

In response to a question, the official said, 'There are 27,000 pending challans in the city buses RTC. The amount is around Rs 80 lakh. We are asking the RTC officials also to clear the cause.A special unit was initiated by police in city traffic in order to ensure that the outstanding amount of e-challans be picked up and delivered to the RTA. When contacted, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitender said "The seized vehicle is produced in court and the car owner has to pay the fine in court. We will not let anyone. As resposible citizen everyone has to follow the rules.
